After victories in St. Tropez and Paris, Riesenbeck also wins the GCL stage in Monaco
With two wins from the last two stages under their belt, Team Riesenbeck International traveled to Monaco. At the final Global Champions League stage before the home event, the Riesenbeck team aimed to extend their overall lead in Monte-Carlo. Against the impressive backdrop of Port Hercule, team manager Ludger Beerbaum sent Marco Kutscher riding Pikeur Lemar NRW and Maximilian Weishaupt riding Zuccero HV into the competition. In Paris two weeks earlier, the team had already secured the stage victory in front of the Eiffel Tower with exactly this same pair of riders. Weishaupt and Kutscher also impressed in Monaco, securing a place in the top 10 with two clear rounds. Four teams advanced to the second round without any penalty points, with the Riesenbeck team ranked fourth due to their slower time. As in Paris, Beerbaum relied on consistency, and Riesenbeck was the only team that did not change either riders or horses for the second round. With two further clear rounds in round two, Weishaupt and Kutscher moved into the lead and had to wait for the remaining three teams. Madrid in Motion also remained clear and delivered two strong rounds, but had to settle for second place behind Riesenbeck by a razor-thin margin of just six hundredths of a second. The Scandinavian Vikings and the Prague Lions, who were in first and second place after round one, both made mistakes and dropped to sixth and ninth place respectively. Even before the final rider, it was clear: Team Riesenbeck International completed the hat-trick, winning the Global Champions League stage in Monaco after St. Tropez and Paris, and traveling to their home event as leaders of the overall standings.
Ludger Beerbaum was delighted after his team’s third consecutive victory: “Another outstanding performance by Marco, Max, Pikeur Lemar NRW and Zuccero HV! Three wins in a row – St. Tropez, Paris and now Monaco… that can't just be luck. Many thanks to everyone involved. We are now looking forward to our stage in Riesenbeck in two weeks. In front of our home crowd, we want to continue exactly like this and build on this winning streak.”
