European Championships for Young Show Jumpers from July 7 to 13 - admission is free!
In exactly 100 days, the individual medals will be awarded at the European Championships for Young Show Jumpers at the Riesenbeck International Equestrian Center! From July 7 to 13, the best 300 show jumpers and their horses from 30 European nations will compete for the titles in the Children, Juniors and Young Riders age groups. There is sure to be a future world champion or Olympic champion among them.
Last year - as in 2023 - the Irish riders dominated. The young riders secured team gold. France triumphed in the Juniors, and Germany was delighted with a bronze medal in the Children (U14) for Brianne Beerbaum, who finished behind the new European Champion Aleksandra Hearst from Spain and Sani Illi from Finland. Just some of the names to remember for the future!
The organizers of Riesenbeck International want to offer a great festival of top-class sport for the athletes and their fans. For this reason, admission to the extensive grounds is free of charge on all days. Catering and an exhibition invite visitors to feast and store. Many riding clubs from the surrounding area are also expected to make their way to Riesenbeck to experience the top sport of their peers.
The qualifying competitions for the three age groups will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 8 and 9, while the finals in individual and team competitions will be held from Thursday to Sunday, July 10 to 13.
“We stepped in for the original organizer Zduchovice (CZE) last December and are looking forward to hosting the talented youngsters and their great horses. Of course, we are striving to create the best conditions on the riding arenas and in the stables, just as we do for the seniors,” explains show director Karsten Lütteken. “The competition arena is our large sand arena, and the experienced course designer Peter Schumacher and his team will design the courses.”
It is particularly important to Karsten Lütteken's team that the participants find an environment that is appropriate for the event. The organizers are therefore hoping for many enthusiastic spectators to cheer on the athletes. As the European Championships are taking place in the summer, guests should also feel at home on the course and enjoy pleasant evenings under the old oak trees on the edge of the Surenburg forest thanks to the catering facilities.
