Free admission to Riesenbeck International on all days
Immediately after the World Equestrian Festival in Aachen, equestrian sports fans will be treated to a very special event – this time free of charge. From Tuesday, July 8, to Sunday, July 13, the European Championships for Young Show Jumping Stars will take place at the Riesenbeck International Equestrian Center. The champions in the age groups Children (up to 14 years), Juniors (up to 18 years), and Young Riders (up to 21 years) will be determined. Team and individual medals will be awarded.
A glance at the list of participating nations promises great sport. Riders from 27 nations have confirmed their participation, including the reigning European team champions from Great Britain, France, and Ireland, as well as, of course, the hosts from Germany. For years, the riders from Ireland and Belgium have stood out, impressively managing to make the transition to the senior age group almost seamlessly.
“We are seeing the stars of the future here,” says tournament director Karsten Lütteken with certainty. “Many of the participants are already familiar with the conditions in Riesenbeck. They know the facility and also the sand stadium where the competitions will take place.”
Riders from clubs in the surrounding area have a unique opportunity during the European Championship tournament week to watch, learn from, and cheer on athletes of the same age who have established themselves at a higher level.
Of course, there will be food stands, bull riding, and country music on Tuesday, music with a DJ on Wednesday, live music on Thursday, a foal auction on Friday, and a closing party with DJ music on Saturday night.
From Tuesday to Friday, the first and second qualifying rounds of each discipline will be held, and on Thursday, the first European Championship awards ceremony will take place in the junior team competition. On Friday, the team medals for young riders will be awarded, followed by the awards ceremonies for the children's teams and individual juniors on Saturday. Sunday will be dedicated to the competition for individual medals in the children's and young riders' categories.
