Ingmar de Vos: “It will be a milestone in their future careers”
Ingmar de Vos, President of the International Equestrian Federation, knows how important young talent in top-level sport is for the future of equestrianism. He therefore extends a particularly warm welcome to the participants and spectators at the FEI European Show Jumping Championships for young riders, juniors, and children. "Over the coming days, you will see some of Europe's most talented young athletes demonstrating their potential in competitions at the highest level, setting an important milestone in their future careers. The dedication that our athletes show at such a young age never ceases to impress me. The passion and enthusiasm they embody help to shape the future of this discipline."
The president reminds the riders that it is a great honor to represent their country at this championship. The achievements of each pair reflect countless hours of training, years of commitment, and the invaluable support of parents, coaches, and national federations, who help the riders reach their potential and compete on the European stage.
294 riders from a total of 33 nations are traveling with their best horses to this top show jumping event. From Tuesday to Sunday, Riesenbeck International will be dominated by this European Championship.
As always, the organizing team led by Karsten Lütteken and Ludger Beerbaum has made it their mission to provide the best conditions. The permanent stables for the horses, the ground in the sand stadium and on the training grounds, and the entire organization are designed to be no different from the service offered at championships for senior riders. “We have been organizing tournaments for young riders for many years – and we put the same effort into it every time. No matter who is competing in our tournaments,” says show director Karsten Lütteken.
As the spectators will play an important role in creating the atmosphere, admission is free on all days. Live bands or DJs will perform every day.
