Freejump Contest concludes the show weekend

November 3. 2025

Last weekend, Riesenbeck International hosted the second CSI** indoor event of the season. Nearly 300 horses and just over 100 riders travelled to Riesenbeck for the international Halloween weekend show. As in the previous CSI** four weeks ago, Ciaran Nallon and Ogana Sitte SR from the Beerbaum stables dominated the Youngster Tour. On both Thursday and Saturday, the pair confidently won the classes for 6- and 7-year-old horses.

In the Longines Ranking Class on Thursday evening, victory went to Sweden, as Karin Martinsen and her 11-year-old Tailormade Conita Blue PS crossed the finish line in just 59.44 seconds. In second place followed a pair from the local Riesenbeck stable: Callao L and Philipp Weißhaupt were only narrowly beaten with a time of 59.89 seconds. Third place went to Tim Hoster riding Claus. The pair had already caught attention at the Longines Global Champions Tour Riesenbeck in September, where they won two classes in the 3-star tour, including the 3* Prestige Grand Prix of Surenburg under the floodlights. After their third place in the Ranking Jumping class, they once again impressed in the Grand Prix of Riesenbeck with a clear round in the first course, qualifying for the jump-off and securing another chance for victory in Riesenbeck. Only seven of the 54 starting pairs made it to the jump-off, and in the end, it was a commanding win for Tim Hoster and Claus, who claimed victory in the Grand Prix of Riesenbeck with almost two seconds to spare – taking home brand-new stirrups from Freejump.

On Sunday, the show weekend in Riesenbeck concluded with a national competition day, as the Freejump Contest once again stopped in the Münsterland region. With a total of five stages – three in France and two in Germany – the Freejump Contest is an important series in amateur show jumping.

The morning began with a style jumping competition at level A*, where Jette Meyer with Zenia G (score 8.1) and Luana Sophia Wallner with Cadiz (score 7.9) each took home the golden ribbon in the first and second section.

In the following jumping class at level A**, the clear winner of the first section was Mia Maly with her pony Veehaypee du Serein. As the third rider out of 69 starters, she set an unbeatable best time, ultimately taking the win in the A** class with more than three seconds of advantage. The victory in the second section went to Lea Plaaß riding Stakkira Gold SP. Due to the high demand and large number of entries, all classes of the day were divided into two sections. Thus, the L-level class also produced two winners – Lisa Tebbe with Bellacoco Z in the first section and Sarah Uphaus with her Pretty Blue in the second.

The day concluded with an M* class including a jump-off. The demanding course in the jump-off presented several challenges, allowing only 4 of the 57 pairs to compete in the jump-off for the final victory. Only two pairs managed to deliver clear rounds both in the main course and the jump-off, earning each a golden ribbon. In the end, time decided the winner of each section. It was Marie Ahmann riding Dinken’s Balou who, with a time of 43.27 seconds, claimed victory in the first section. For Hannah Zölzer and her Lody, the clock stopped at 44.61 seconds, earning them victory in the second section with the only other double-clear round. All winners of the day, as well as the riders placed second and third, took home valuable prizes provided by Freejump.

We look back on a successful weekend full of international and national sport and many visitors from the region. The next events in Riesenbeck are already around the corner: on November 11 and 12, the next national Late Entry competition for young horses and the "Riesenbecker Abendtour" will take place. In just three weeks, international show jumping will return to Riesenbeck once again, when from November 27 to 29 we will welcome numerous riders to the next CSI** in Riesenbeck!

Admission to both events is free – we look forward to your visit!
