International show season underway

January 27. 2026

After the show year at Riesenbeck International had already been opened at the beginning of January with two national show days, the first international show of the new year took place in Riesenbeck last weekend.

Following arrival and the vet check on Wednesday, the first class started on Thursday morning. The international show year in Riesenbeck was officially opened with the Youngster Tour for 6- and 7-year-old horses. Joy Anna Meinicke claimed victory in the class riding her 7-year-old Co Pezi. The best 6-year-old horse was Ascaro O with Ludger Beerbaum.

The first highlight of the weekend was already on the schedule in the afternoon, as the opening class of the CSI2* Big Tour also marked the first of the two Longines Ranking classes. Clara Blau and her Cinsey EK took the lead with almost a one-second advantage over Søren Pedersen and Tailormade Calimocho from Denmark. Third place went to Jaroslaw Skrzyczynski and Solaris Blue from Poland. Clara Blau continued her successful run the following day: riding Cinsey EK, she also won the Medium Tour presented by Fundis Reitsport, and on Friday she claimed victory in the Light Tour as well.

Kathrin Stolmeijer can also look back on a very successful weekend in Riesenbeck, having won all three Small Tour classes convincingly with her 11-year-old mare Kate Slottie.

In the first Grand Prix of the new year at Riesenbeck, ten of the 42 combinations completed the course designed by Isabel Rothenberger and her team clear, thereby qualifying for the decisive jump-off. It took until the fifth starter in the jump-off for the first clear round to be produced by Poland’s Jaroslaw Skrzyczynski and Komboy. With a time of 39.05 seconds, they set the benchmark for the remaining five combinations. However, Skrzyczynski was unable to hold onto the lead for long. As the seventh combination to go, Laura Klaphake and the 10-year-old VDL Quizano van’t Merelsnest delivered an even faster clear round, stopping the clock at 39.01 seconds, just four hundredths of a second quicker than the Polish pair. Next to start was Kaya Ehning with Flower Girl, who once again tried to beat Klaphake’s time but ultimately had to settle for third place. The final two combinations in the jump-off, Johannes Ehning with Priam du Roset and Kevin Martsch with Montanus Culina, were also clear, but had to be content with fourth and fifth place respectively.

There is plenty more planned at the Riesenbeck International event venue in the coming weeks. As early as next weekend, we are looking forward to once again welcoming the medal winners of the 2025 German Youth Championships in show jumping for a training camp. One week later, the next CSI** show will take place, before two further national show days are scheduled for the end of February.

Admission to both shows is free, and we look forward to welcoming you!
