Last outdoor show and opening of the indoor season

September 19. 2022

Two tournaments on two weekends, at the same location - and yet so different. At Riesenbeck International, the summer will be bid farewell with an international two-star outdoor tournament from September 21 to 24 - and the indoor season will traditionally be opened with the CSI** from September 28 to October 1. Admission is free on both weekends.

Due to the good conditions in the permanent stalls, some riders take up the offer to start their horses in competitions on two weekends - and to move them on the numerous courses in between.

After the World Championships in Herning there will be a reunion of the international riders with the active ones from the surrounding area. Announced themselves on the two weekends 200 riders with over 600 horses from 17 nations.

The program is similar on both dates:

13 and 15 jumping competitions respectively are on the three-day program, which ends with a CSI2* Grand Prix of Riesenbeck on Saturday. Both the Grand Prix and the first jumping competition of the Grand Tour on Thursday are competitions for the Longines World Ranking. The riders can start their horses daily in a Small Tour, a Medium Tour and a Grand Tour, there is the FUNDIS Youngster Cup for the young horses.

Old acquaintances such as Marco Kutscher, Carsten-Otto Nagel, the winner of the Grand Prix of Aachen, Gerrit Nieberg or the winner of the six-year-old horses at this year's Bundeschampionat, Richard Vogel, will be competing again. The family of Gert Jan Bruggink will be traveling from the Netherlands, as will Gerco Schröder. The guest riders of the Beerbaum stable Noora Penti (Finland) and Mohamed Talaat (Egypt), the USA are represented with Wilton Porter, Chloe Reid or also Emily Short. Christian Kukuk from the Beerbaum stable will be particularly pleased and will keep glancing at the TV screen with one eye. Because the winner of the Grand Prix of the Longines Global Champions Tour leg in Rome two weeks ago will be cheering on his Berlin Eagles team in the penultimate leg of the Global Champions League in New York during the breaks in the tournament. The "Eagles" still hold a razor-thin lead over the Stockholm Hearts team. With their victories, the two riders Ludger Beerbaum and Christian Kukuk also already have the ticket to participate in the LGCT Super Grand Prix in Prague in their pocket. Now, stablemates Philipp Weishaupt and Eoin McMahon are expected to extend their lead.
