Markus Renzel: “A great start for us in Riesenbeck”
48 starters began the opening jumping competition of the CSI3* Tour, the Riesenbeck International Opening Class over 1.40m on sand this afternoon. Many spectators enjoyed the beautiful summer weather and the good starting field. Victory went to a very happy Markus Renzel, who completed the course clear and in the fastest time with Pikeur Cole's Balou. “I am totally happy with my horse, he has always jumped very well in recent weeks and did a great job today. A great start for us in Riesenbeck, I'm looking forward to the beautiful show,” beamed Renzel. The show jumper from Oer-Erkenschwick will also be relying on the 10-year-old Westphalian Pikeur Cole's Balou (by Cole Porter) in the second competition of the three-star tour on Friday, while his second horse Pikeur Lemar will be competing on grass.
Second place went to Armin Schäfer on the 12-year-old son of Darco, Drops van Overis Z, also in a clear 56.50 seconds. Jordanian Nasouh Kayali jumped to third place with It's A Walk In the Park in 57.07 seconds.
