From March 26 to 29, riders from Germany and abroad once again gathered in Riesenbeck to compete in the CSI** event. There was also plenty on offer for visitors – in addition to top-level sport over four days, the Fundis Outlet opened its doors in Riesenbeck for the first time. Shopping across 450 m² delighted thousands of visitors at the Riesenbeck International venue. The sporting part of the weekend began on Thursday with the Youngster Tour for 6- and 7-year-old horses. Victory in the first class went to Tom Schellekens riding the 7-year-old Eldoranos C-G Z. However, the standout performer in the Youngster Tour was the 7-year-old Stacoa, bred by Jolita Hagelmann and owned by Beerbaum Stables GmbH, ridden by Tom Schewe. After finishing second in the opening class, the pair went on to win both the second competition and the final, dominating the Youngster Tour.
David Will and the 10-year-old Qualido M secured victory in Thursday’s 2* ranking class, ahead of Jur Vrieling and Gerben Morsink. Juliane Rölfing also enjoyed a successful weekend in Riesenbeck. On Friday, she won the second class of the Big Tour with the 14-year-old Come and Feel O NRW, and in the Light Tour she dominated with United’s Feeling O across all three days. After finishing second behind Felix Wassenberg and Concret W on Friday, the pair went on to win both Saturday’s class and Sunday’s final.
The highlight took place on Sunday afternoon – the Grand Prix of Riesenbeck. A total of 53 pairs entered the competition, with 16 completing the first round without faults to qualify for the jump-off. Among them were Philipp Weishaupt and the 9-year-old Callao L, who delivered the fastest round in the jump-off to claim victory in the Grand Prix of Riesenbeck on home soil. Second place went to Sweden’s Karin Martinsen with Tailormade Concha Balou. Third place remained in Germany, going to Sophie Hinners riding Event de l’Heribus.
The next CSI**, and the last of this spring, will take place from May 7 to 10. The Medium and Big Tour competitions (CSI**) will be held in the grass stadium, while the Youngster Tour and 1* Tour classes will take place in the sand arena.
Admission is free on all days. We look forward to your visit in Riesenbeck!
