Two Christmas shows at Riesenbeck International

November 28. 2022

For one year, Riesenbeck International has a new, attractive offer for show jumpers. Regular CSI** tournaments will be held at the equestrian center, which will take place on two consecutive weekends. On the two coming weekends (December 1-4 and December 8-11), the Christmas tournaments are now scheduled, which will once again offer all-day international sport, accompanied by Christmas spirit and anticipation.

The permanent stables make it possible that the horses of the national and far traveled participants are very well accommodated during the free tournament days between the events. In addition, there is enough space for the daily training work on the riding arenas and the two halls of the spacious equestrian center. For Show Director Karsten Lütteken, this offer has already proven its worth: "With this type of event, we have raised the so-called "working tournaments" to the next level, to international level. Our regular CSI** tournaments have established themselves as an important factor in professional equestrian sport in the region."

Both weekends will feature 13 competitions for the international riders, with six competitions for young horses. On Sunday, both tournaments will end with a Grand Prix. For the riders from the region, the aim of the final of the Riesenbeck Ranking List 2022 is to do well in two elementary class jumping competitions at the annual highlight of this series.

The proximity to the Netherlands will again attract riders such as Michael Greeve, Ruben Romp, Willem Greve and Albert Zoer to the Surenburg. From the north of Germany comes the winner of the team silver medal at the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games, European Championship gold medalist in the individual of 2011, Rolf-Göran Bengtsson (Sweden). The Belgian top rider Judy-Ann Melchior, head of the Zangersheide stud and partner of Christian Ahlmann, will herself present her horses with the Z brand. Special attention will again be paid to Katrin Eckermann, who lives around the corner, and who finished second behind Daniel Deusser in the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix in Prague weeks ago, pocketing just over 250,000 euros in prize money. What a Christmas bonus at the end of the season!

Spectators are welcome as always with free admission. There is plenty of space around the perimeter of the event hall. On the gallery, food and drinks will be offered in cozy warmth and best view of the course.

For those interested who can not be present in person: Clipmyhorse.tv will broadcast all competitions live.
